Greetings and welcome to a new school year at Claremont!

 

News

 

Here are some of the changes that have taken place over the break:

 

• Andrew Osborne has started as school administrator at the primary site and Claire Booy now covers the secondary site.  Gill Eastment looks after the finances and will be reducing her hours in term 2.
• We have opened a new class at the secondary site which is based within the main school building of Redland Green – this class of students spend varying amounts of time alongside their mainstream peers.  The class is run by Pam Vivian who joined us in June and is supported by Sophie Trenear, Becky Scull and another part time LSA (yet to be appointed!).
• At primary we have been joined by Natalie Davis (LSA) in Class 4 and Sarah Kingscott (SMSA) in Class 5.
• The Parents Room at primary has been converted into a library but there is still room for parents to meet there if they wish.  The Speech and Language Therapists are now based in what was the library.
• The Leadership Team have changed around with Andrea Underwood (Assistant Head) moving back to primary and taking over my old office space and Joy Kelly (Deputy) moving to secondary, taking over the Parents Room (again still plenty of space for parents to meet if they wish!).  Although both Andrea and Joy have new bases they will continue to have responsibilities across the whole school.
• I will continue to cover both sites – if ever you want to speak to me just call either office number and they will be able to put you through or organise an appointment.

 

 

Parents’ Meetings

 

Following the success of the class based parents’ meetings we will be repeating them again this year and I hope you will be able to make it along to a couple across the year.  If you have anything you would like to find out about in your child’s class please let their teacher know.

School Lunches

 

A reminder that the cost of school lunches is now £2.10 per day at Primary and £2.15 per day at Secondary.  Payment should be made weekly in advance - £10.50 per week for children at Primary and £10.75 per week for children at Secondary.  Please send in any money still outstanding as soon as possible.

• Tuesday 22 September – 10.30 am – Primary Parents Coffee Morning at the Primary School site
• Tuesday 22 September – 7.30 pm – Friends of Claremont at The Wellington, Wellington Hill.  Everyone welcome!
• Wednesday 30 September – 2.15 pm - Secondary Harvest Festival in the Secondary school hall.  Everyone welcome!
• Tuesday 20 October – 10.00 am - Primary Harvest Festival in the Primary school hall.  Everyone welcome!
• Tuesday 17 November - Friends of Claremont Christmas Shopping Evening – 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm - at the Primary site
• Wednesday 2 December – 7.30 pm – Secondary Exhibition of Work & Music evening, Secondary School Hall
• Friday 11 December – Primary Christingle Service, 10.00 am –

St Peter’s Church, Henleaze

• Tuesday 15 December – 10.00 am – Primary Christmas Performance, including coffee & mince pies.  All welcome.
